Welcome to Music Mode
A 'mode' is a scale system by which music is created. In every culture there are different modes and each one has a certain flavour or feeling about it. A mode is a style - a particular way of doing something - and the mode of this web page is 'discovery'.
 This section of the Y-Dub website is an interactive playground; a place to meet, to have a voice and learn more. Music Mode is a resource for musicians and a place to share. It will be somewhere where you can uncover information and get inspired. There will be tuition tit bits for people wanting to learn more about their instrument and find out about other instruments. For anyone interested in meeting people of like mind there will be dates, times and places to hook up where we can discuss what we are up to and maybe create performance opportunities, jam sessions or workshops. And if you want to find out about up and coming gigs or advertise your own, there will be a space for just that. We are interested in what people are up to and their experiences, so any stories about your journeys in music or who you are as a musician will be happily received. It's a place to say "hi, this is me". There will be a weekly article on the ins and outs of the music business and articles such as what it's like to be an A and R executive or to run a music mag etc. There will be a mentoring section with musician's sharing how they reached their goals and the path they took to get there. We will be keeping a close eye on what's happening with the music scene around New Zealand and abroad and who to look and listen out for. There are so many exciting avenues to walk down in music so lets start walking.....
Meet the Music Mode Co-ordinator
 My name is Andrea and I will be co-ordinating Music Mode. I am a Wellington based singer song writer. I have been singing professionally for eleven years and was the vocalist on the album for the movie Broken English. You may have heard "Star River" and "Another Country" from that album. I have also featured on many of New Zealand's most well known commercials. I am writing songs for my debut album and am really inspired by the amazing artists that I have been listening to lately. I am interested in all aspects of music and really enjoy playing live and experimenting with fellow musicians. I have been offered the opportunity to get this page up and running. Having the chance to contribute and get to know people around the region really excites me and I'm looking forward to watching it grow.
